What Community Participation Looks Like at NewAura

CPA 1

Community participation means different things to different people. Our role is to support participants in accessing activities that reflect their interests, goals, and personal pace—not to direct or rush participation.

Support may involve:

  1. Accompaniment to social, cultural, or recreational activities

  2. Assistance accessing local community spaces and events

  3. Support to join groups, clubs, or structured programs

  4. One-on-one encouragement during community outings

  5. Help building familiarity with public environments

Participants decide how and where they engage, with support adjusted as confidence grows.

A Focus on Comfort, Confidence, and Choice

CPA 2

Many participants experience anxiety or uncertainty in social or public settings. Our support workers provide calm, consistent encouragement, helping participants feel safe and supported without pressure.

Through gentle guidance, participants can:

  1. Feel more at ease in community spaces

  2. Improve communication in real-life settings

  3. Build trust in their ability to engage socially

  4. Develop routines that include community involvement

Progress is gradual and participant-led.

Skill Development Through Real-World Experiences
